Life List Abbreviated
This should appeal to my fellow listmakers. I became inspired by an online diva, Mighty Girl. Doncha love the name? You expect to hear “da-da-da-DA!” whenever you read it. I like a blog title that insinuates a super-hero theme song. Anyway Mighty Girl a.k.a. Maggie Mason, a witty photographer and epic blogger, has come up with her own interesting take on a life list. http://www.mightygirl.net/mighty-life-list/ . She’s managed to do quite a few things like taking tap dancing lessons and attending the San Francisco Black and White Ball. Lately she’s breaking her list down to things to do monthly.
I’m a big fan of goals. I’ve set and met lots of them, not the weight one, but lots of others. And nothing makes me happier than a new project that requires first making a list. I love list making. Organizing. Prioritizing. 1, 2, 3. There is an inspiring quote from one of my favourite authors, Mark Twain who said “The secret to getting ahead is getting started. And the secret to getting started is breaking your complex, overwhelming tasks into small, manageable tasks, and then starting on the first one.” Easy peasy. That’s goals in a nutshell. So to begin a life list, make a “this month list”.
And so, being inspired by Might Girl (da-da-da-DA!), I will take up her challenge and set three goals for myself for this coming month.
- Work on my own “Life List”, or “Bucket List” (things to do before I kick the bucket after the Morgan Freeman/Jack Nicholson film), or just
“Things I Wanna Do List”. Set some of those big life goals. - Go to see my cousin in Portland whose house burned down last winter to see how the rebuilding is coming along.
- Read “Heart of Darkness” it’s one I missed in lit class.
So, what are you doing this month?

Followed you from Maggie’s site. Good luck with your list! I’ve been able to cross a few off mine over the last two years, but I think I really need to accomplish them more often.
Welcome. I’m glad I opted to “play along”. What a great idea. (She’s full of them!) What a character!
