The Publication Blues

I came across this poem the morning after I talked with another writer at a party. We were bemoaning the tenative future we share as writers. People don’t hesitate to give you the grim, slim statistics about getting published. I’m not sure why they delight in doing this, perhaps it is a misguided attempt to make you feel better about failures. But this little gem made me take heart. May it take your heart as well.
